Kopi In Town Chess Tournament

Again KGCC (Kelapa Gading Chess Club) has held an individual chess tournament this time located at "Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua".

This chess tournament is for the non-master and master under 15 categories. With almost 300 participants, this event runs from 9 am to 6 pm.

This tournament was chosen to be held on May 24 because it coincides with the collective holiday of Vesak celebrations.

The participants who joined came from various cities, not only from the Jabotabek area but also from Bandung, and cities from Central Java and surrounding areas.

As usual, KGCC, as a chess club that supports the development of junior chess players, on this occasion also competed in matches for the U-14 and U-11 categories.

The number of U-11 participants was recorded at 18 participants, while for U-14 there were 22 participants using the 6 round format of the Swiss system. The adult category itself was attended by 256 participants using the Swiss system format of 8 rounds.

As an additional game there is also a duel match between National Master Daniel Laotongan and Simon Tanoto.

In general, this tournament was quite successful and again increased the interest of chess fans in Jakarta to compete. The participants who attended expressed their appreciation to the committee, media partners and sponsors who had contributed to the success of this event.

Among those who worked hard to make this event a success were Kopi in Town Mangga Dua, Media Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Tayoh Sarana Sukses, Speed Management, Converpak and of course not forgetting KGCC.

This tournament ended as scheduled with the distribution of prizes including door prizes in the form of 5 chess sets and a number of souvenirs with a total prize of more than 29 million Rupiah.
