Stop with herd immunity worries!
The flap continues about herd immunity as the pandemic winds down. As the numbers go down so goes the happiness of power mongering fools we have elected as leaders.
Those who are empowered by the pandemic continue to flex their muscles, and they continue to ignore a huge segment of the population that threatens their ability to rule through fear. And ignoring that group is the only way they can keep their grip on the fear-fueled control they want to maintain over the rest of us.
That big segment of the population is made up of all the folks who have had the disease and have antibodies protecting them. According to Rand Paul, a libertarian politician and u.s.senator, who is also a physician and survivor of covid 19, those who have recovered from the disease typically have more protective antibodies than those who have been vaccinated.
Why do I use Rand Paul's opinions rather than Anthony Faucci you may wonder? Faucci has changed his story over and over about covid 19, the origin of the bug, and the pandemic and has admitted that he intentionally misled us when he told us that masks don't work. There are some who claim that he has a financial interest in at least one company holding a patent on a covid 19 vaccination. Paul is the least objectionable politician possible, as he is a libertarian, extolling the virtues of smaller and more transparent government. And he is a physician. He is also a politician and I think he lies, yet I trust his words more than Faucci's. But as is my way, I listen to all the information from opposing viewpoints before I try to figure out what is true.
Going to National Public Radio's website, I learned this morning that 53%+ (141 million) of US adults are fully vaccinated, equal to 42%+ of the total population. We also know that about 305 million doses have been administered as of this morning. Simple math tells us that 64 million have received one doese and are very likely to receive a second dose within the next 4 weeks. So that leaves 46%+ of u.s. adults unvaccinated, or about 123 million, and about half of those have received one shot.
Now the numbers that they don't want you to know about: According to studies that have tried to determine how many people have had the bug and recovered, it has been determined that somewhere between 6x and 24x the number of confirmed cases have been asymptomatic or otherwise undiagnosed. Those numbers are provided by the American Medical Association's websire, the the 6x figure being the estimate for Connecticutt and the 24x for Missouri.
So using the lowest possible number, 6x, we can confidently say that six (or more) times the number of confirmed cases in the USA reflects the number of cases that include the undiagnosed. Since there have been 33 million cases diagnosed in the USA, then 198 milion have been infected, the vast majority of whom have recovered, far more than 2/3 of the adult population. For most diseases, this is herd immunity without considering who has been vaccinated! Assuming that this disease is more contagious than your usual coronavirus (colds/flu), it may need more than 2/3 of the population to be immune in order to end the pandemic. So to get to the real number of folks who are immune, we can combine the "naturally immune" or those who have had the bug, with the "vaxed" numbers. Knowing the "vaxed" number to be 141 million and the adult population of the USA to be 267 million, we add 141 million to 2/3 of 123 million (the number of unvaxed adults), or 141 million plus 82 million, or 223 million total number of immune adults in the USA as of this morning.
More simple math: that means, as of this morning that over 83% of the adult population of the USA is immune. And that number will continue to inch ever higher as relatively few people will get the bug and another 60 million people go in for their second shot.
So even the most anal retentive power mongering politician knows that we have exceeded the level of immune folks to provide us with herd immunity. That doesn't mean it's impossible to get the bug, it just means that the number of cases will continue to drop until it's no longer significant.
Those who wish to flex their power simply ignore the fact that having had the virus gives you immunity, probably much more so than getting the vax. Consequently we still have lockdowns in states that are run by the most rabidly power-lusting governors. And many universities are requiring young healthy students to be vaxed in order to attend, without regard to whether or not they have natural immunity.
As we try to offer the financially advantageous approval for use of vaccines in children, there seems to be a greater number of side effects being noticed in youths being vaccinated, including life threatening conditions like myocarditis. As children generally have the tiniest chance of getting the bug, it's getting to the point that in younger children the vax may be more dangerous than the disease.
No wonder there is building resistance to the country's plan to vaccinate 70% of the adult population.
Reminder, I'm not a physican, epidemiologist, molecular biology expert, or anything special to tell the truth, but I'm good with simple math. Really good. And I am an advocate of smaller, more transparent government and I don't like politicians lying to me. I hope this entertained you and please don't consider anything I write to be reliable enough for you to utilize it in making personal decisions about your health or anything. Full disclosure: I am fully vaccinated.
