Training Routine UPDATE

In my first Blog Post I outlined my new training routine and since one whole week is over it is time to re-evaluate and optimize to reflect my personal needs / weaknesses.

So what is my weakness based on the training games I've done this week? PRECISE CALCULATION!

What am I gonna do about it? Ramp up the TACTICS TRAINING and FOCUS ON CORRECTNESS!

Here i will just go with the chess.com study recommendation for intermediate players which is 30 to 60 minutes tactics training every day. I'm not going to say how much puzzles i will solve because by concentrating on correctness I may not be able to solve 20-30 puzzles. I will try to go for the upper limit of 60 minutes + the Puzzle Rush/Battle Warm-Up.

Since this will take up lots of my time I will have to do some further adjustments. To have a clear overview, here is my new and UPDATED TRAINING ROUTINE:

1. Warm up: 1 Puzzle Rush, 1 Puzzle Battle

2. Tactics: 30-60 minutes (focus on correctness)

3. Play and Game Analysis: going for three 15+10 games a week rather than one daily (looking for strong opponents -50 till+200 points), Review Mistakes and short summary (Why did I lose, What did I learn?)

4. Endgame Training: Reviewing already learned endgames (no new material for now)

5. Opening Training: Review and or learn new Opening line

That also means I won't post daily for the time being but I will give weekly summaries. Have a great week!
