Hello everyone today I am going to show you variations in the Sicilian defense, brilliant moves of inventors from these variations and a few puzzles by rating level.

Intro: The Sicilian Defense was invented in the 17th century, by Pietro Carrera, a chess player and priest, there are much variations and today I am going to show you the Najdorf, the Taimanov, the Alapin and the Bowdler Attack.

Najdorf: After 7 moves of mainline Najdorf, 3 brilliant moves, 2 great moves and 20 best moves his opponent resigned, I am going to show you the game:

Taimanov: after a few best moves a brilliant move of his opponent, both players making mistakes Mark Taimanov finds a way to win material by sacking his queen! Here you see the game:

Alapin: when you play it, it looks like a Ponziani, playing c3 and d4, but your opponent's first move was c5, Alapin plays Siegbert Tarrasch and loses to the brilliant moves of his opponent, it just shows how to play the Alapin:

Bowdler: In this game Thomas Bowdler plays Philidor (from my previous blog) in a blindfolded simul, Philidor draws the game against him and it is the only Bowdler Attack game I found so he invented it in the simul, it isn't spectacular chess. They just played like you should do Sunday at 10 AM:
