02.02.2024 Hans Niemann Banned from the Saint Louis Chess Club for Inappropriate Behavior

On February 2nd 2024, The Saint Louis Chess Club has banned Hans Niemann for the rest of the year 2024 due to inappropriate behavior. The behavior was very unacceptable by allegedly damaging hotel property, rude comments, and an uncoorperative attitude. The actions included breaking TV remotes, a lamp, an ironing board, shattering a glass into pieces, damaging a lamb, and piercing a couch. He vandalized hotel rooms.  He later apologized to the hotel and club several times. He said that in 2023, he wasn't invited to play in any tournaments. He will not be invited to play in any of the club's tournaments scheduled in 2024. He is blacklisted from receiving any invitations to tournaments that are hosted by the Saint Louis Chess Club.
