Hello all! This is the round 5 recap for the 3/0 tournament. I will do the best I can, however, don’t expect it to live up to Fet’s level lol. without further adue, let’s get into it!

Chesssblackbelt dominates LunarLightning in potentially deciding matchup (5-1)

it was kind of a surprise to see lightning do as poorly as he did, as his accuracy averaged at just under 67%. This was a huge matchup against two favorites, so seeing Lunar look this way is concerning. It may have just been a diversion though, with knockouts approaching sooner than later.

TheFloridianSpeedster defeats AlexDaGood in dramatic match (3.5-2.5)

Alex was one game away from upsetting speedster in this one, as both players entered this final game 2.5/2.5. With Alex being at a near 1,000 elo differential, it was extremely impressive to see him putting up the fight he did. Unfortunately though, he would fail under the pressure, allowing speedster to take the match.

Tree55555 continues Java’s 3/0 tournament nightmares (5.5-0.5)

Java was having a rough tournament before this, but he needed a turnaround in his matchups with Tree. Unfortunately for him, Tree didn’t give him much to work with in terms of mistakes, and the ones that Tree did make Java wasn’t able to capitalize on.

Neelesh tears apart BartmanHomer in (6-0) win

Not much to say on this matchup or this game. Neelesh came in as the heavy favorite, and he proved why in this one. The rest of the games were the same level of dominance for Neelesh, who hopes to continue his dominant run en route to joining the knockouts.

Tucker makes Cale walk the plank (5-1)

Another matchup I don’t have much to say about. The Elo differential said a lot heading into it, and it showed during these six games. With that being said, props to Cale for beating me in game 6. It was almost 1:00am for me at that point and I was just randomly making moves not really calculating. Cale took advantage, and as a result was able to pick up a win against me.

MOVE OF THE WEEK!!!

Congrats to Tree for having the move of the week! In a position that was winning but not quite lost yet for Java, Tree found the beautiful QC3!! Giving up the queen for the rook knowing that his B pawn would be able to queen after the exchange. This resulted in resignation just two moves later.

I want to thank everybody for reading this recap!
