Fischer. More Insight...
Hello Viewers!
I am back with interesting material for you today! I will start without interruption.
So, I guess you have heard about this little "American" Robert James Fischer, right? I will explain why I have put the word 'American' in quotation marks [I hate Americans, by the way, and I used to hate Fischer too].
I was casually playing ChessBase Quiz, and came across this question [I don't exactly remember it], who was enlisted in the forces of Charles de Gaulle? Of course I tried to guess it, but of course I got it wrong. In case you don't know, it was our good theoretician Savielly Tartakower...
Continuing, and yes, again I don't remember the exact question, but it was to the extent of that who appealed for Fischer's release at his arrest in Japan?
I was interested in this "arrest"... And it led me to such a disgusting sentence that even such a hardened anti-American and anti-Fischer such as me, decided to not hate Fischer anymore...
I went to the index besides his Wikipedia page, pressed the link on 13.1. Yeah, that's right, in case you were wondering if he has a really big page, with 22 subtopics.
I started reading, and now I will describe it to you with screenshots. Please don't miss this, it is really important!:
a] Life as an émigré:
Fischer basically became a fugitive after the 1992 match with Spassky. Then he was residing in Budapest and might have had an affair with the Hungarian Zita Rajcsányi. He stated that standard chess was stale [!] and began playing variants. He also used to analyze games with the Polgár sisters and stayed at the house of Péter Lékó for sometime...

I guess I have explained that one...
b] Comments on September 11 Attacks
This one is really interesting and changed my view about Fischer:
Almost four hours after the 9/11 Attacks, Fischer was interviewed live shortly after midnight by the Bombo Radyo network. That name sounds a bit weird though...
He said that he "applaud the act. Look, nobody gets that the that the US and Israel have been slaughtering the Palestinians ... for years."
He also said, "The horrible behavior that the US is committing all over the world ... This just shows you, that what goes around, comes around, even for the United States."
And he is indeed correct! But then he went too far and vented his anger on another thing:
"[I hope] the country will be taken over by the military—they'll close down all the synagogues, arrest all the Jews, execute hundreds of thousands of Jewish ringleaders."
Now here I don't think that Fischer is correct. Please explain.
Editing Needed. Please Help!
That is brutal by the way...
And so after these comments, the USCF passed a motion to cancel his membership.

Don't worry, my long list is ending!
c] Detention in Japan
This one is quite interesting too.
You might know that Fischer lived for a long time in Japan. But, acting in accordance with a letter by US officials, on the 13th of July, 2004, he was arrested by Japanese immigration authorities. Why?
It was 13/07/2004, and Fischer was in the line for immigration at Narita International Airport near Tokyo. That for using a revoked US passport while trying to board a Japan Airlines flight to Ninoy Aquino Airport. He claims to have and sustained bruises, cuts and a broken tooth in the process.
His passport had apparently been revoked in November 2003 and Fischer believed it was still valid...
Then the authorities held him at a custody center for 16 days before transferring him to another facility. Fischer said that his cell was windowless and he had not seen the light of day during that period, and that the staff had ignored his complaints about constant tobacco smoke in his cell.
Now I give the screenshot:

Thanks for reading! My intention for writing this blog was to show that Fischer might not be one bad American...
