A GOODBYE π«π«
A Farewell from Mikul MD
If you are reading this — I am dead.
Well, not literally. I am dead on Chess.com.
So let's have one last conversation together.
To the members who made this feel like a real community — thank you for the warmth and friendships you brought.
To my rivals and friends alike π — you shaped this journey more than you know.
I won't pretend I was perfect. If I ever hurt anyone along the way, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness.
And to my friends β¨ — there are truly no words. Just: thank you.
Thank you for standing by me through these past four months. I genuinely hope we cross paths again someday.
Give me a year, and... I'll try to return
But first — let me take you through my Chess.com journey.
My Chess.com Story
I'm Mikul MD.
I joined Chess.com back in 2021, with an account called @thespidermanmd — just to say I have one.
Over the following year, I actually learned the game — through books, and with the patient guidance of my father and brother, who helped me grow as a player.
I went on to create several accounts (not knowing at the time that multiple accounts weren't allowed), and it wasn't until 2025 that I truly discovered the world of clubs and the Chess.com community.
The first private club I joined was SUPREME ELITE SOCIETY — and I owe a special thank-you to @fm-syn_xin and @lokesh-gamer-18 for trusting me and appointing me as Super Admin.
That moment was where my real journey began β¨.
I went on to create my own club — KNIGHTS OF THE MIND π
— and I have to thank many members and @thedualipagirl , who played a huge role in helping it grow.
Time flew by. After nearly five months, I found myself a member of 107 clubs, owner of 36, and holding Admin/SA positions in 21 others — not counting the ones I owned.
Then, one day, something shifted π₯.
Friends started leaving —
@chief_of_discovery,
@nickarumitharu-123
— and it stung more than I expected. The reason Chief left stayed with me:
"I had decided to leave Chess.com earlier too, but failed several times. The main reason is that I've done almost everything here, and every day feels the same — like being trapped in a matrix. I've wasted a lot of valuable time, and now I'm moving into a more responsible stage of my life with a lot to do for my career. I tried leaving social media a few days ago but couldn't resist coming back, so leaving permanently is the only option."

That hit me hard.
I realized just how much of my time I had poured into building sidebars, managing clubs, and maintaining everything. And yes — MrChatty, I know you'll read this and say "no need to maintain or code, just chat" — but I'm sorry. I'm done.
Why I'm Leaving
The only way for me to use my time wisely — to study, to grow, to live — is to step away from Chess.com.
I'm not sharing this just to explain myself. I'm sharing it because I want you to pause and genuinely ask yourself:
"Is it truly worth spending all of my precious time on Chess.com?"
If you're pursuing chess professionally or working toward earning from it — absolutely, stay. That's a worthy path.
But if you're spending every hour here without real purpose or direction, please reconsider.
Thirty minutes a day? Perfect. That's healthy. But giving your entire day to it, at the cost of your future? That's worth thinking about.
So — think about it.
And goodbye, to every friend, every rival, every supporter who made this worth remembering.
Thank you.
— Chat ends —

Date of leaving: 9th May, 2026
