How I Started Playing Chess
Chess is a beautiful game, I remember how I started playing the game. No one taught me in particular. I played my first game of chess using the chess titans software on a Computer

Didn't even know how the pieces move, and I also didn't have the slightest idea what I was doing, but I just simply use the move guide on the board to move the pieces anywhere and everywhere, capturing whatever comes my way without calculating anything.
As time goes on I realized sometimes I lose a piece or pawn because it was over attacked and under protected. So that was my first ever tactic, trying to over attack my opponent (The Chess Titan engine) pieces or pawns.
I continued to use the chess titan and I improved a little. After a while playing around with the Chess Titan, I got an opportunity to play over the board for the first time, and it was wonderful. My opponent beat me mercilessly. Losing my rook and queen to knight forks was the order of the day.
I remember one game where my opponent sacrificed his queen very early in the game, I was so happy to grab it not knowing that grabbing the queen blunders mate in one. My tactics was simply a mess at that time. But losing didn't make me lose interest in the game, I continued to play and lose to my better human opponents and gradually I learnt from my mistakes and after the game sometimes I ask them why they make certain moves and all this contributed to my progress.
Then I realized I could play the game on Facebook Messenger . That was a turn around for me, unlike over the board where I can play about 5 or 10 games for the day and my friend will be tired of playing me. I get to play tons of random human opponents. I played everyday on Facebook messenger and I started with 800 rating and got to 1300 there, then I found chess.com.
Chess.com contributed a lot to my progress here, I solved the few puzzles they allow me solve with my free account, I also enjoy the limited analysis and weekly lessons. I have always loved challenge and one thing that got me hooked on Chess.com back then, was because the opponent here were stronger and challenging.
As an unprofessional chess player, I am happy with my progress so far, but, it seems like I am stuck at 1900+.
This is my first blog here and I am open to suggestions for improvement and also feel free to share your chess story.
