Stoofvlees-Halogen, CCC 17, Rapid: Qualification
Hello, and welcome to my fourth post about masters' games, where I only talk to myself, because nobody will read this... but today, we have a game played by an other type of master... a computer master. The players of this game are both chess engines, which are competing for places in the Chess.com Computer Chess Campionship 17. This event is being transmitted every day, all the day. And yes, 24 hours per day, the CCC is happening, but things are a little bit different than human tournaments. In the CCC, the engines play a lot of games... and I mean a lot of them. Thousands to more in many time formats. That's why the event happens every day, every time. If you didn't know about, in Chess.com left side menu, on the three dots, the last page is where is happening the CCC. I was wandering there and found this game happening in February 21th, and when I came back to it, the result was a win. I thought it was cool to bring this game here, because the engines were playing a Queen's Gambit position. That's one of the other things about CCC. To avoid draws and very equal positions, all the games start with book moves, decided by the staff. Further in the championship, more book moves are added, but in this qualification round, there were only 3. Stoofvlees, an engine from Belgium, is playing against Halogen, from Australia.
At the moment I'm writing this (February 24th), Stoofvlees is in second place on this qualification round of the CCC, while Halogen is in seventh. There are 8 engines competing.
So that was it, my non-existent readers. Hope you liked my analysis of this game.
