Bad Moods In Chess

Chess can be hard sometimes. Many people quit chess because of losing a tournament or game.

Even the best chess players sometimes have a hard time suffering from this.

A few reasons for Bad moods are mentioned below,

1. Losing a winning game.

2. Losing a game to a lower rated player.

3. Losing on time.

4. Losing a lot of games at the same time.

These 4 reasons are why many people quit chess. Personally , I too get sad and angry when one of these reasons happens. It is natural to get these emotions from time to time but we must understand how to deal with it.

Solutions

1.Losing a winning game

Once my coach told me when you have a winning game don't panic! Inhale for 6 seconds , Hold the breath for 2 seconds then Exhale for 7 seconds. This trick has helped me a lot!! So I recommend this to try for yourself.

2.Losing a game to a lower rated player

I simply have 2 answers.

One is the opponent is maybe stronger than his/her rating.

The other is you made a mistake somewhere in the game. To minimize mistakes I recommend on doing a lot of puzzles.

3.Losing on time

You analyze for the opponents best moves and your best moves. While doing this always keep in mind to look at the clock.

One of my tricks is to play some quicker time controls like 3+2 or 3+0.

4. Losing a lot of games at the same time

I can't specifically tell the reason for this. So I recommend on analyzing the games over and over until you correct the mistake.

PROTIP - Analyzing is one of the key ways to improve. So always remember to analyze after playing a game.
