To Resign Or Not To Resign...

A question we don't often ask ourselves, but feel an emotional obligation towards doing after what appears a large mistake.

If that emotional sinking feeling takes hold, shift it and say, "You know what, let's wing it!"

In this game below I did exactly that and managed a draw that my OPPONENT offered.

As he had offered the trade and my mistake as early as move 9, as well as the consideration of the position at the moment, I didn't want to risk a loss through such a strange endgame and awkward position.

As online games (especially live chess) typically are win or lose, this idea holds stronger for Over-The-Board games and should thus be utilized for it!

Don't always resign simply because emotion tells you to. At the least wing it! (intelligently) and see how far you can push your opponent!
