Don't Sweat the Small Stuff!
I've put in over 12 hours on the Tactics Trainer and I can now notice several patterns and capitalize on them. I later found out that I opened with Nimzowitsch Defense: Scandinavian Variaiton. In this game, I recognized checkmate almost a second to late. My opponent made a good tactical move with his pawn attacking both my rook and knight. It looked bleak but I saw a tactic to get out, save both pieces and get checkmate. This game brought home a really valuable lesson; don't sweat the small stuff! You'll see what I mean.
