The Chessnut Move – First Week Impressions

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening (where ever it is you are reading this from)

I’ve had the Chessnut Move for about a week now, and honestly... It’s better than I expected. So I thought today I would share my thoughts on it.

Design & Build
The board looks great: modern and solid. I received the wooden pieces, and they have a nice weight and feel to them. I was a bit unsure about the raised base on the pieces as I had concerns about how awkward they could look, but once I started playing, it wasn’t distracting at all.

Movement & Features
The self-moving pieces are smooth and fun to watch. Whether you’re playing online, importing a position, or loading up a puzzle, it just works. And it works (mostly) really well!

If you want to see it in action, I’ve got a video below where I go over some qualities of the board, show a few of the features off and even attempt a blitz game

Price + Discount
Prices of things seem to be changing all the time.. If you are in Australia you would know groceries have gone up 150%.  Petrol is on the rise... I dont know the exact price of the Move... but what I can say is its time to take prices down! If you're interested, you can usually save 12–17% with my code: WHIGGI

Final Thoughts

This was my first time using a board with self-moving pieces. It’s been smooth, reliable, and more fun than I expected. Definitely feels like something built for chess fans.

Got questions? Let me know.
Want to compare it to the Evo, Pro, or Go? I’ve reviewed those too on my youtube channel, along with reviews on other boards, and chess tutorials. Feel free to pop in and say Hello
