A match game, playing the Caro-Kann
The last of this series on Familiar Ground, Preparation, and now using those with the Caro-Kann, and in this case, looking for diagonal moves. This is one of the reasons to play the Caro-Kann. I noticed about my opponent in my preparations that he is weak to the diagonals.
The signature opening position for the Caro-Kann is diagonal and I probably could have worked the French System too, had I thought about it. I'll have to review the French again, probably this week.
Anyway, here is the game. Keep in mind that I'm playing Black, so you might like to flip the board around to see my view of the game.
The game review says I made one Blunder but again, and I'll dispute that. It was deliberate to leave the Pawns alone as I had other priorities at the time. The game review software has a tick about "missed Pawns" even though that is sometimes not actually the best move.
But, I enjoyed this game and hope to play more games this well, even if I have to play Black.
