1. Jus' winnit FORKS

Hi guys, welcome to the first part of Jus' winnit. Today we learn all about forks.

First question: What are forks?

Forks are doubleattacks, so you attack two pieces with one move, and your opponent can just bring one piece to safety. That means the other attacked piece is free to be captured. Here is an example:

The powerful queen attacks two pieces at the same time: The king and the knight. The king has to move, and white can capture the knight. This principle works for all pieces. Look at the following positions:
