Jus' winnit Trapping a Piece
Helloooooo dear friends,
I've finally written a new blog for you! (I didn't have the time lately because of school and stuff...)
This time, the topic is "How to trap your opponent's piece" .
If you are trapping a piece, you are basically "checkmating" the piece- you attack it, but it has nowhere to move without being captured, and you can snack it easily.
Let's have an example:
This example has got many pieces on the board (which is often the case in this tactical theme),
but try to look for black pieces, which don't have much space left. If you found the critical piece- good job!- it's the black bishop on c6. He can't move anywhere without being taken- so your your job is to attack the bishop... The solution is pawn to b5, and he can be captured next move.
But in some cases it takes two or more moves to capture the piece, e.g. if it has one square left , you have to chase it carefully.
Or you can fork the running guy after he "escapes"... - you see -there are many possibilities!
Now you know the basics, go try these puzzles!
Well done! If you have questions or comments, write it below there
Greetings, Wurstzug
