Hello everyone. Yesterday was May 1st, a day for many celebration, and as far as I'm concerned, it was also the four-months anniversary of Promote to King. There's many things I could tell about all what happened in the last months, and first I want to thank all players who chose to join. It's an obvious statement, but still, the team wouldn't be what it is without its members.

Speaking about members: as I write, there's already 737 members, many of them very active as we are currently playing in 1039 daily team matches and 8 vote chess matches, against 661 different teams. We have all kinds of matches, the biggest having 100 boards, and in average we are having 5 boards per match. Most matches are friendly, but we are also participating in leagues, and hoping to get some good results there soon.

As I already announced, we organize many matches, but we want to play fair, and we try to balance matches as much as possible before they start. Sometimes, the matches start too fast and we can't, or we don't have enough players to achieve a good balance, but I have to say in general it's quite OK, as can be seen in the win rate of 51.2%. We finished more than 600 matches already and scored 6407 points, placing us already at rank #635 of the teams leaderboard. Amongst those matches, I'm very happy to see the good reception by other teams for our thematic challenges. We started more than 180 matches based on the book openings (all 119 of them). We now started a new series of matches based on gambits, we have a list of 348 gambits, and at least as many interesting matches to setup!

Our team is giving honorary ranks to its players depending on how many games they win for the team, from Pawn (10 points) to King (250 points), and in April we finally got what I decided to call a full set: we have more than needed to play a game of chess: 47 Pawns (10+ points), 41 Knights (20+ points), 14 Bishops (50+ points), 7 Rooks (100+ points), 3 Queens (150+ points) and 2 Kings (250+ points). That's a lot of activity for just 4 months.

Now it's up to you: do you want to join the fun? Join the team!

More updates will come as the club develops. See you all in matches!
