Pure Salt Gaming at the USATE 2020
So far the team is officially on 1 point out of 2 however we have two wins in our third round playing down so looks like it'll be 2 out of 3. Here's my games so far for board one where I played up first round against a 2360 and then back to back 1200s.
Round 1, black against Alex Fikiet 2360
Tough way to start the day, black against a higher rated opponent when I'm not completely in the zone. Started out okay yet then when I looked to recoordinate my pieces the path I picked was too slow and I underestimated his central pawn storm. 2-3 mistakes in the game and that was that.
Round 2, white against Joey Zhang 1250
Pretty straight forward game. Joey tried to play a gambit yet his position was a little too loose and while white had to unwind some pieces there were no major threats.
Round 3, black against Daniel K 1224
Another morning round at least I have black so hopefully next round I'll play white against a higher rated opponent. Played a mild opening to keep things calm before white made a grievous blunder.So all in all I had 3 fun games and hopefully I get some higher rated players as it stands I'm going to probably be losing about 5 points.
