The English opening begins with 1. c4

Reversed Sicilian with e5
Your opponent can respond with natural move e5, controlling the center. You will play Nc3, play g3 and prepare a fianchetto.
If they want to play aggressive after that with d4 you will take, the knight takes and you play Nf3. If they take your knight take with the b-pawn. If they don't and play something like Nc6, you still fianchetto and prepare to castle.

You will most always fianchetto the bishop and soon castle. Later in the game you decide where the dark-squared bishop goes. The optimal square for it is g5, so you should decide what you would like to do to achieve that. You have option 1, slow and passive. Or option 2, aggressive and open. I will first go over what option 1 might look like:

Option 2:
This is truly up to preference.

Symmetrical Variation

They copy your moves! How Original!

When we play 7. d4 we broke their copying streak. This was option 2 in the reversed Sicilian.

That's basically it. There is the Anglo-Scandinavian where they play d5. You will take and everything is okay.
