7 Day Tactics Challenge: Day 4 (Expert)

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 4 of the 7 Day Tactics Challenge. We're now at the expert level, so these tactics should challenge all but the very best players! As always, all of these puzzles are taken from my own games.

As a reminder, for each puzzle, you can score points using the following system:

You have 3 strikes per puzzle. Get as far in the puzzle as you can before making 3 mistakes, and then check the solution. Add up your points up to the last move you solved. Pay attention to bonus points!

For example, if you make it through 2 moves that each give 2 points, and then make your 3rd mistake, then you'll get 4 total points for the puzzle.

After you've solved all 3 puzzles, add up all your points together. Then, check the section at the end of this post to see how you did!

Puzzle 1: Think Twice

Puzzle 2: Fireworks

Puzzle 3: Race Around the World

Ranking

0 to 3 points: Newbie. These puzzles might be a little difficult, but that's fine!

4 to 6 points: Beginner. These puzzles are a little bit above your level, but you're getting there!

7 to 10 points: Intermediate. These puzzles are tricky, but you got some of them!

11 to 14 points: Advanced. You're almost there if it wasn't for one tricky puzzle!

15 to 18 points. Expert. These puzzles are right around your level!

19 points or more: Master or higher. These puzzles were easy for you! If you want to see how strong you really are, try solving some of the harder tactics to come in the next few days!
