Goal Accomplished

263 days ( 8 months 21 days) that is the time it took to go from 159 ( February 26 2023) to 1010 (Nov 16 2023). During this time I played 2450 predominantly focusing on rapid and blitz games. Solved over 11000 chess puzzles, bought courses and books watched youtube videos all in a quest to hit the goal.

I established a goal at the onset of this endeavor, I aspired to attain a rapid rating of 1000 by the conclusion of the calendar year. An objective that at the beginning seemed to be an impossible feat and I was able to accomplish that goal. While this achievement is undeniably gratifying as I mentioned in the previous post, it is accompanied by a nuanced sentiment - beyond the elation lies a subtle undercurrent of trepidation, a realization of the ephemeral nature of success in this pursuit. 

Nothing lasts forever and in the world of chess your rating is only there until the very next game. I will continue to enjoy the journey with a new focus not on a rating number but on a pursuit of knowledge.
