Sadistic mate : will this one be?

Today, 29/10/13, I played a blitz game 5 min with 5 sec increment on FICS. My opponent went in for Philidor defence. I happened to mate him, with same number of pieces on both sides, but my opponent being 3 pawn down. I could have mated him early ( 5 moves earlier than the actual game). But in the game the black king walks up the board into whites 2nd rank and gets mated there. Isnt this a sadistic mate?
