Hi everyone! This is my very first blog post so I hope you really enjoy it. Today, I will try to teach you some openings that are widely used. In openings there are three main objectives for the opening:

1) Control the centre

2) Develop your pieces

3) Prepare to castle

We shall first look at the King’s Pawn move which is the most common:

This move is normally followed by e5 but can be followed by d5 or Nf6:
If black play e5, White can play 2. Nf3 or 2. f4 becoming the King’s Gambit (but I would personally not recommend this move)
Another move that is popular is 1. d4:
This move is normally answered by Nc6 but can also be answered by e5 turning into the Englund Gambit or d5. If it is answered by d5 White can play c4, turning into the Queen’s Gambit:
The last opening I will show you today is the Réti Opening. It works by White moving out their knight to g3 and then Black will usually copy by doing knight to g6 but sometimes black can also play d5 or even c5. White usually plays d4 whatever one of these 3 black does:
Thanks for reading my blog post. Tomorrow I will post a blog post on ways to win, ways to draw and ways to lose. Any suggestions can go to @alexander-romanov. Bye!
