The Father of Cricket W.G Grace wasn’t letting that loss slide. There over in England now at the legendary Oval now known as the Kia Oval (I HATE SPONSERS!).
William Gilbert Grace. The Father Of Cricket. He opened the batting with his brother Edward and dominated the Australians. The Australian bowling attack Struggling without Spofforth conceded 420 runs… W.G Grace scored 152 leading the English charge. Then the English found there bowler Fred Morely who got a 5for and then 3 wickets in the follow-on innings. But Billy Murdoch wasn’t going down easily the Australian Skipper scored runs a lot of them 1 more then Grace did with a fighting 153 but it was only enough to give Australia a 57-run lead. If Spofforth was there then there could have been a chance as Joe Palmer and Harry Boyle bowled their hearts out but they couldn’t stop Grace and Frank Penn. Spofforth had made the tour however was excluded due to Joey Palmer bowling better in the first-class games.

In Conclusion this game was just as good as the previous one but it didn’t quite have the same emotional attachment in Bannerman’s retirement. Next ones a biggie lads a 4 test series!!
