Le pion passé g6 est d'autant plus dangereux qu'il est soutenu par la Tour g1 placée derrière lui. Chaque pas en avant le rapproche de son but - qui est la promotion - et augmente en même temps le champ d'action et la puissance de la Tour. Encore faut-il que le pion puisse avancer... Trait aux Blancs.
