The unconventional opening that still works

This was a good win I had this morning.  But I have received a ton of criticism for using this opening.

It's almost guaranteed that any serious chess player that I get paired up with feels an obligation to tell me that I'm breaking the rules of chess, or doing something sacrilegious.  Why does this opening offend people so much?  I find that completely amazing.
