How to Play 3-check
Hello guys. Have you ever wondered or wanted to know how to play some variants? Well you're in luck. In this series we look at some variants. 3-check chess has a very clouded very much unknown history. It was probably made in the Soviet Union (from Dec 30 1922 to Dec 26 1991), USSR or Russia today. If you have more history please tell me.
3-Check is a simple variant with one clear task in mind: Check the king as many times as you can! Normal rules apply, but you can also win (or lose!) a game by checking (or getting checked) 3 times in total. (3-Check Tips for Beginners coming soon!)
- Games can still end in the traditional ways of checkmate, stalemate and time-out.
- The game can also end if a player checks their opponent's king three times.
- A move that results in a double-check only counts as one check towards the "total check score."
In this game the position looks normal, theres no 2 players per a side or craziness. In fact it looks so normal that a beginner would think its normal chess. But there are differences. In 3-check there are three checks on the side. The first player to get 3-checks wins (i know its crazy) no matter what.
And 3-check is also played with small time controls like bullet times like 3 min. two pieces that are very useful are the Bishop and Queen. It is because the bishop can give 2 out of 3 checks in 3 check. and the Queen is guaranteed to give you at least one check.In 3-check queens can be sacrificed to win game and a lot other pieces are sacrificed to get checks.
I think the best move for when playing 3-check is e4 opening the queen and light squared bishop which can give 3-checks easily. Next black should play e5. but worst move is d6 why because the bishop can give 2 checks. and the Queen can give one more.
