So recently pictures have have been appearing where the Christ the Redeemer Statue is hit by lightning. This is one of them:
And since I use a windows os operating system, I get news pop-ups, and this is what I saw. My reasoning of why I think this happened is pretty good In my opinion. Most people say to not stay under a tree when a thunderstorm is occurring. This is because of the fact that, there is a smaller air gap between the trees and the ground which causes trees to be more likely to be hit by lightning. And most trees are I would say around, 15-20 feet at most (4.572-6.096 meters), on the higher end, some are around 30 feet (9.144 meters), but the Christ the redeemer statue is an astonishing 98 feet tall (29.8704 meters), that is more than 4 times the average height of a tree. And this isn't accounting for the big hill or small mountain it's on. And another thing that usually gets hit by lightning are tall buildings. And yes, I know, most tall buildings get hit by lightning because of the metal rods on top, I know. However, what is on top of the body of this statue? A large head...so I mean, yes, it's not made of metal, but it is huge, probably could fit close to 50 lightning rods in it, probably close to a thousand or a couple hundred if you melt the rods down. But anyways, my point is, the chance of this statue being hit is high, and how it was not hit before this time is a miracle. However this is just my opinion, so please don't get mad if you disagree with my logic or reasoning.
