The most famous lower-rated brilliancy of all time.

Hey everyone, I'm back again! I took a break from writing blogs for a few days, mostly due to the lack of a working laptop. Since a new series is in the works at the moment, I decided to take some time off from any series and just write a blog for fun.

Today's game is not only the most famous, as the title states, but the most impressive amatuer game of all time. I would be proud to play a game this accurate and this stunning. Many people consider Morphy-Allies to be the greatest game of all time, but in my opinion this is much better. Though it is overshadowed by Kasparov-Topalov and other master games, the game Catig-Mills still certainly has its merits.

(Note: Some of my annotations are stolen from Jeremy Silman's review of this game. I tried to make my notes as unique as possible while still being accurate, and I needed something to work with. So don't sue me!)

Like some of my other games, I kept the variations minimal so you aren't drowned in lines. Let me know what you think about my commentary and also the game in general.  Bye now!

This blog is dedicated to helping lower-rated players and beginners learn new things about chess, one article at a time.
