developing my middle game...

I am fairly new to chess.  I've played before, but am a less than average player.  If you play me, it can go either way, but I struggle with my middle game.  I would like to find a way to develop my pieces.  I know a little about gaining the center, but have a problem:  I often fall into bad trades.  I've noticed that my opponents often have a more developed game.  I would like to know different ways to develop my pieces.  If you want, play against me, and you may pick up on some weaknesses.  I am artofwar.  Find me for a game!!!
