Defensive Technique with Paul Keres
In preparing for one of my games, I came upon this older game by the great Paul Keres. There were a lot of lessons learned during this game which I would like to share with you in this annotated game.
Here are some of the lessons in this game:
- The Colle e4 break vs. Black's ...c5 break, creating an isolated d-pawn situation.
- Keres' defense against a thematic Colle kingside attack.
- How Keres solves his own positional problems while neutralizing White's initiative and attack.
- Black's technique is finishing off a game when ahead material.
I hope you enjoy and find this useful. If you like my annotations, I annotate more master games (as well as interviewing the masters involved) on my Better Chess Training site.
