Do you like chess memes?

If you like chess and memes, then you should like what I've been organising! On Friday, 25 March, two of chess's most prominent meme-rs will be battling it out live to earn the 'Meme Queen' title. You can catch the action live on twitch.tv/hashtagchess from 20:00 CET (and also on Jesse and Lula's channels), and you can read on to know how your opinion can influence the event.

The contestants

WIM Jesse_Feb has been on the meme scene for years, sharing memes (chess and non-chess) regularly on her Instagram stories, and to a lesser extent on her Twitter profile. Lularobs is a newcomer on the chess scene, both as a player and a meme-r, but one would hardly know it, as her rating has shot up, and GothamChess has even dubbed her the 'Internet Chess Meme Queen'.

Even though Levy called her the official 'Meme Queen', Lula cannot lay claim to that title without fighting off other potential candidates for the crown, and Jesse is sure to bring her A-game to Friday's competition.

The Competition

Not even the contestants know the exact details of the competition, so tune in tomorrow at 20:00 CET to see the challenges unveiled. The competition will be divided into three different formats where Jesse and Lula will show off their memes-pertise, their knowledge of their audience, and their ability to work under time pressure. The contestant who wins 2 of the 3 formats will be crowned the 'Meme Queen' and will receive 20 gifted Twitch subscriptions for their community (as well as everyone's respect and Twitter follows).
