Subtle Play
Here is another game played by Smyslov. This one takes place in 13th USSR Championship, in which he took second place. He makes a very subtle knight sacrifice on move 24. Instead of trying to regain the material, however, he quietly builds up the pressure until his attack is able to penetrate Kotov's defences with some neat sacrifices.
Happy Valentine's Day! Did anyone do anything special? Oh, and I'm considering buying this book: http://www.qualitychess.co.uk/products/2/22/questions_of_modern_chess_theory_by_isaac_lipnitsky/ Do you guys think that it's worth getting?
