The Typical, "Chess and Life"

Dear Friends

I've discovered here recently how much chess resembles life! Through the playing of many games, you tend to notice similarities. Some of which become redundant. The same is true of life; we meet many people, and yet how few actually stay with us, care about us, and remain in our memories. Occaisionally though, one or two will come along who are capable of totally changing our whole perspective and keeping us motivated to stay with the game (of life that is). Sometimes I fear the redundancy in the game of chess will eventually drive me to stop playing, then, like life, I'll end up playing an incredibly exciting game that keeps me going.

One person that I've met in this life that keeps me going is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Walking with Him is like playing a chess game in which when you make that "uh oh" mistake and put your queen right in front of somebody's open rook and the point it out to you and say "I don't think you want to do that" or "I'll let you take that one back." I hope all of you have experienced that somewhere in your chess careers, my father would do that to me, teaching me Mercy and Compassion. *Two things that don't mix with chess when you're actually trying to win... lol. **Another interesting note was that I started playing chess when I was 5, and it took until I was 17 before I beat my father. I'm 19 now and still have only beat him that once!

I'd like to give an open invite to anybody who reads this to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It's an easy decision to make, and one that will truly effect the rest of your life on this earth, and your eturnal life! All you have to do is Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He came to this earth and died on a cross for you, and that He was raised from the dead three days later! If you believe that, pray this simple prayer~

Father God
I ask you right now, to forgive me of all my sins, for all the times I've missed it this world. I believe in Your Son Jesus, and that He died and rose again for me. Please, God, take control over my life. Reset the board and give me another chance in You.
In Jesus Mighty Name
Amen

Friend, if you just prayed that prayer; you've been accepted in to God's kingdom! I'd encourage you to get into a Bible based church, and begin studying God's Word, the Bible, every day! You'll be amazed!! at how much your life changes. I'm also posting a link to the web page of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland. For the last 40 plus years he and his wife have been ministering the Gosple of Jesus Christ. This web page and ministry is FULL of material that will help you grow as a new Christian, or even as a mature Christian. http://www.kcm.org/index.php?p=home
