What is a Blunder?

A player that is new to chess.com might've just went across one of their games and saw the analyses. 2 blunders, etc. A question they might ask is, "What is a blunder?" That was a question I have asked myself also in the past, which made me look like a noob. I am here to make you not look like some kind of noob anymore by telling you what a blunder is.

There is nothing special about a blunder, a blunder means that you lost material. Sometimes, a blunder can lead you from winning, to losing. For example:

White was winning a bishop, but then white blundered their queen by inviting the black queen to gobble up the queen.

You could also blunder by missing your opponent's blunder. Here is another example:

White has missed an opportunity to capture the queen which is also considered a blunder.

Any questions? Ask me! Thanks!
