Breaking news in the chess world: The reigning computer champion, Stockbird, was almost defeated today by Booble's AlphaNegativeOne.
Here is one of the games played between AlphaNegativeOne and Stockbird.
AlphaNegativeOne started with the lesser-known, but formidable Van't Krujis Opening, 1. e3. Stockbird followed with 1... e5.
Right after the "natural book moves," AlphaNegativeOne finds an astonishing, ball crushing move: 2. Ke2!!. Stockbird is in a terrible position now. But Stockbird finds the perfect counter-maneuver that is almost IMPOSSIBLE for any human to find: 2. Ke7!!. Now the position is roughly even.
Basically, after the opening position of 1. e3 e5 2. Ke2 Ke7, the position is drawn. And after 71 moves a maneuvering, AlphaNegativeOne and Stockbird reluctantly agreed to a draw. GG!
