Let's go through Chess for Beginners!

Step 1: Learning how the pieces work

King: Although he may lack movement, he's considered the best piece on the board!

Queen: Can move diagonally, up, and down. Most checkmates are delivered by this piece.

Bishop: Can move very well! It's best at performing a skewer.

Knight: It's the only piece in chess that can jump over their pieces. That's amazing!

Rook: Moves up and down. It's also best at performing a skewer.

Pawn: Pawns critically start off the game and can neutralize the position in the endgame. Pawns are also really good at performing forks if there is a designated piece defending it.

Castling: The only move in chess where 2 pieces can move at the same time. It's also the onyl chess move where the king can move two squares.

Here is an example of a chess board and how the pieces move:

RULES:
Let's take a look at the rules!
En passant: French for "in passing" when a pawn moves two squares beside the same rank as the example attached below:

                                                     RANKS AND FILES:

Come with me, and let's move on to GAMBITS!

Gambits are sacrificial moves that allow you to neutralize and upgrade your POSITION.

For example, here's the BENKO GAMBIT:

The Benko gambit generates weak positional space on White's queenside. So, do you get the point? Thanks for looking at my blog, CHESS FOR BEGINNERS. I hope to see you next time!
