The original immortal game
The Immortal Game was a chess game played by Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky on 21 June 1851 in London, during a break from the first international tournament. The bold sacrifices Anderssen made have made it one of the most famous chess games of all time.
notes by Wilhelm Steinitz; It is from this move that Black’s defeat stems. Wilhelm Steinitz suggested in 1879 that a better move would be 18... Qxa1+; likely moves to follow are 19. Ke2 Qb2 20. Kd2 Bxg1
there are some critical movements that are 11. Rg1,18.Bd6,19.e5
in that Bd6 was the most. yes! it was actually winning for kieseritzky. the that should be played in-game was Qxa1+ and it was over for Anderssen. but he missed the move and eventually lost the game.
