How to add mods to minecraft
Hello there! have you tried to install minecraft mods but then realized it doesn't work? don' worry, we've all been there once or twice. this blog is going to explain what you need to do to get minecraft mods running, we'll be using Fabric for this tutorial, step 1: we'll need to install fabric using the link mentioned above download fabric for your OS, use This link for instructions on how to install it. done that? good now lets move on to step 2: getting the mods in the first place, i heavily suggest you use Modrinth to get your mods (side note: make sure when you enter the mods page on modrinth, and filter by "fabric" and also the version of fabric you installed, example: 1.20.4 1.20 1.8.9, i think you get the idea, if you dont then use the image below as reference to what i mean).
find a mod (example: Sodium) and install the fabric version and the version of fabric minecraft you installed, wait for it to download and now lets get to the part you might know. step 3: putting the mods into the mod folder, its quite simple really, open your files application and locate ".minecraft", find the "mods" folder and put the installed mod into your mods folder, and bam you can now run mods on minecraft! BUT we still have 1 thing to do.. making sure minecraft is ultra optimized and good. step 4: this is a bonus step that i'd suggest you do for the sake of your pc, (i forgot to mention this earlier, but i suggest getting 1.20.4 fabric as it is the best supported version for mods imo) get the Fabulosly-optimized Modpack as it has the best optimizers installed with a few extras. is that everything? nope theres 2 extra notes i wanted to add, 1 is for the linux users, and 2 is for smart cookies. note numero 1: for linux, you'll need to right click the fabric installer .jar file and then click properties, then head to permissions and then click "allow executing file as program". note number 2: you can skip this all and install the Modrinth Launcher where you can download mods and launch minecraft much easier, this is of course optional and i myself dont use it, so i cant give much detail on how good it is, but you can read it on its page. this is the end of the blog, have a splendid day! (dont expect more blogs from me, i just made this blog because lots of people dont how to add mods to minecraft lol)
