Kramnik's assertions | Hikaru 3-min games 50k -> 30k
Kramnik brought up a good point about the number of 3-min games that Hikaru has played on the site. Chess.com mentioned 50k games, and that number is likely just coming from Hikaru's profile, which is the total number of games Hikaru has played on this site (as anyone can see here). If that is indeed where the 50k number is coming from, then Kramnik is correct about is the number should be closer to 34k, which is the number of blitz games Hikaru has played. If we want to be specific about 3-minute games, as of right now, Hikaru has played 30,388(*) on the chess.com site through his "Hikaru" account, which is still a massive number of games and – I believe – a large sample size where 44-game win streaks is not unexpected against other players.
One thing Kramnik hasn't mentioned, however, are Hikaru's streaming accounts and speedrun accounts. Between all those accounts, Hikaru's 3-minute blitz games may very well be much closer to that 50k number. Hikaru might also have an anonymous GM account where he can play blitz anonymously, since I believe chess.com allows that so GMs can keep their games more confidential.
(*) This number comes from the Chess.com public API, which is awesome. If you want, you can double-check how I pulled this data from my GitHub gist here: https://gist.github.com/calebjcourtney/b1491d9f42fd2ca17107d89039f75f01
