I first read about this gambit when I was ten years old.  Despite my best efforts I had never actually used it.  The positions of pieces etc have never allowed it.  This evening I took a risk and went for it.  My unfortunate opponent fell for it and after 33 years of waiting I finally got to play that gambit!
I'd also like to add that I rarely gamble in chess and usually assume my opponent will not fall for a gambit where refusal gives him a distinct advantage.  But this evening I rolled the dice.
