Escapers

When I complained about players who time out rather resign, my friend Tony G told me that on Go servers they are known as escapers.  They used to really annoy me.  Imagine if in an OTB game you simply got up and walked away from the board when you were losing, perhaps leaving your opponent to wait an hour or so before they could claim their victory.

Now when I come across an escaper I look at their games and amuse myself by looking at the awful lost positions he was in when he timed out.  I now have a good laugh rather than get annoyed.
