Endgame Studies!
Today I’ve found and created endgames to help you with your calculation skills! The first puzzles is actually a long endgame study created in 1986, if you can calculate it all the way through then you should be proud! The second one I created myself, and it’s much more simple, but still instructive, think about each move carefully!
1. Composed by M. Gromov, 1986
Did you see at first? Probably not, this is a quite lengthy win here, you have to get creative to find critical moves consistently, and you’ll probably get stuck at one point so don’t forget that the hint button exists!
Knight and pawn and king vs. pawn and king
White to play and draw, it isn’t too hard to hold the draw here, just a few good moves! You shouldn’t need the hint button here unless you don’t know the pattern.
3. Composed by me
This is another simple concept, just don’t get too greedy when doing it and you’ll solve it! Calculate out your moves though, there might be a trap lurking around the corner!
Sorry there wasn’t more! I couldn’t find many that interested me, and making ones that work and are interesting are harder. I hope these sharpened your mental calculation and that you’ve enjoyed doing these! Make sure to check out my other posts and leave a comment below, bye for now!
