Are you making impulsive moves in your games? Read this
All of us have made impulse decisions on the board.
Since chess is a decision-making game, doing so is very dumb.
If you find yourself making blunders, giving away winning positions or just missing opportunities due to playing fast and being impulsive.
Then you MUST fix this ASAP. Otherwise, no matter how hard you train, you won't see results.
From my experience coaching others, I know that the main reason why players make impulsive decisions is because they have played too much speed chess.
Bullet and blitz are very fun.
But it's not the best practice if you want to develop more serious skills.
So consider taking a break from these practices and embracing longer time control formats: rapid or daily.
"But Diego, my opponent takes forever to make his move, and it's not as exciting as playing blitz."
...
Well, "slow" chess can be very fun. If you find it annoying, it's because you've trained your mind to think faster than it should or your attention span has been damaged by social media.
Which is another strong reason to engage in slow chess.
Slow chess can help you focus better
Slow chess can help you find better moves
Slow chess will certainly help you improve.
Hope it helps
