Guide to overcoming a painful defeat in chess.
When was the last time you had a painful defeat? Or maybe a frustrating game when you had a winning position but made a silly mistake.
These situations are very common. In fact, one of my students suffered a losing streak a couple of days ago.
Most people cannot overcome this feeling and quit chess for a couple of days or weeks.
I think the fear of losing is real. It’s real because sometimes it is painful.
So I created a framework you can use every time you are underperforming, and you feel bad about it.
Let me present to you “The Personal Success formula.”

Creating your Success Formula
- Critical Tasks: Make a list of all the things you did in your training that helped you to get good results. Example: Attending the group coaching calls, analyzing my games with the tools in the coaching program, etc.
- Perfect environment: Make a list of the external things that create better conditions to play: Example: Night time, after work, when kids are sleeping, and I won’t get interrupted, etc
- BulletProof Mindset: Describe how you will use this “bad experience” to fuel your training and journey.
