How to always win at chess

You can win at chess every day, all the time.

No, I am not talking about cheating.

I am talking about redefining what a true victory means.

Most people who play chess are discouraged about their results.

Eventually, this makes them feel like they are too old for chess or that they don't have any talent.

So, sadly, they quit, give up or procrastinate on their training.

It's sad because chess study and progress are fun and exciting and enrich your life and soul.

The problem starts when you are obsessed with the result.

The result scapes from your hands.

Think about Nepo, Caruana or Nakamura in the last candidate's tournaments. You can be sure they were training 24/7 and playing at their peak, but still, it wasn't enough.

Anyway, if you read this, I know you don't want to play chess at that level.

You just want to play better chess, see what you can do, and enjoy the game even better.

The truth is, the more you progress and learn the secrets of the game, the more you enjoy it!

If you are discouraged by your results and feel like you suck, let me show you a different perspective.

You never lose, you are always learning, therefore you are always winning.

And victory is everywhere.

Anytime you face a situation that challenges you, you are winning.

Most people don't challenge themselves, which is why they feel stuck.

When was the last time you actively tried to play against higher-rated opponents to propose a fierce fight?

The result doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is leaving your skin in the game once the challenge calls you.

And you can do it every day.

When did you last embrace and study that book, which seemed hard?

When was the last time you sought to understand some hard concept and master it?

Does your training challenge you or feel like a new comfort zone?

In an era when people are looking for easy wins, openings, traps and the easy way to improve, nothing elevates your games and spirit more than consistently doing the hard work.

So, every time you challenge your skills and capacities,

Or every time you feel so small, dumb, or not enough

BUT YOU STILL GO FOR IT AND EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE...

You are winning.

So celebrate any small victory.

Did you solve a hard puzzle? You are winning

Did you lose a game, but did you do the best you could? you are winning

Did you study your games and spot destructive patterns in your game? You are leaning therefore you are winning.

Victory is everywhere.

Challenge yourself, raise the bar.

Keep growing.

See you on the winning side.
