The end of frustration in your chess.

The end of frustration in your chess.

The most frustrating thing about being stuck in chess is knowing you can do much better.

You know you can play good chess on a good day, win significant victories, and find excellent tactics.

But that's not your day-to-day, your chess looks like more:

Giving away winning games, losing material in the opening, making blunders, and missing obvious tactics you wouldn't miss in your puzzle training.

I think that wasted potential is the core of the frustration, and it's sad.

One of the reasons I decided to become an exclusive chess coach for adults was that most chess coaches don't understand the specific needs of adult improvers.

The classic advice of:

  • Solving puzzles
  • Watchung courses
  • Pay memberships
  • Watch YT vids about strategy

Doesn't work for most adult chess learners. Actually, it aggravates the frustration.

Just think about it,

On one hand, you have been told that you need to do puzzles and watch vids; you do that but still you lose games in the first 15 moves or lose winning games due to silly mistakes.

On the other hand, you know you are a smart person, even if you start playing chess from a long pause, you have beaten strong players in the past, you can find brilliant moves too, and from time to time, your performance is higher than your regular rating.

You know that the potential is there.

You know you are capable of more

Somehow, something is missing.

My recommendation is to use that frustration and turn it into fuel.

The second step is to decide that you have had enough of playing the same chess that doesn't allow you to grow.

In the following days, I'll post new tips on studying chess as an adult player.
