The Charlotte Chess Center and Scholastic Academy hosts the Tuesday Night Action tournaments. Every week players get to play one rated USCF tournament game; after 5 weeks the results are sent to USCF to be rated. The time control for these games are G75+15 (each player has 75 minutes for their moves and they both get 15 seconds added onto their time after each move starting on move 1).
This allows those not able to attend lots of weekend tournaments the chance to get some tournament experience. It also gives those that do play in weekend tournaments the chance to stay sharp. If you have a chess club near you, I highly recommend taking advantage of this system if possible.
I had not been to the weekly games consistently since June of this year so I was using these weeks to prepare for the Charlotte Open 7 round tournament that I'll be playing in this year from December 20-23.
Due to the holiday season, this event happens to be 6 weeks/rounds. Below I have analyzed my games which includes at times my own thought process and ideas I was thinking of during the game. This makes for more instructional material for myself as well readers. If you're wanting to improve at chess, analyzing your own games (without [insert your chess engine of choice]) is a great way.
