The Gold Coins Game
I. Introducing The Players And Other Important Information
The players of the game was Stepan Levitsky, a chess master against Frank Marshall, a chess legend. The game was played at Breslau, Poland, but is now called Wroclaw on July 20, 1912 during the tournament of the DSB congress that was founded at July 18, 1877 while the German Empire was attacking multiple countries. After Frank Marshall sacrificed the Queen, Levitsky resigned. The spectators threw gold coins at them because of the brilliant win from Frank Marshall.
II. The Special Event of Throwing Gold Coins
Although it said that spectators threw gold coins, it has no concrete evidence when it was true. Marshall insisted that the spectators threw gold coins at him and his opponent for his brilliant win. Israel Horowitz reported that his wife, Caroline, disclaims even a shower of gold. Eric Schiller wrote "some people were just paying off their wagers.
